" Technical Stipulation for Boiler Drum Water level Measurement System " has passed examination.

    Since National Electric Power Company has issued “Twenty-five key requirements to prevent major accidents in power production”(i.e. “Requirements”) and “Several stipulations on the configuration, installation and use of boiler drum water level measurement system in power plants(trial)”(i.e.“Stipulations trial”), they played an important role on safe operation of boiler and prevention of full-water or water-shortage accidents.

    However, according to practice in recent years, some issues in “Requirements” and “Stipulations trial” are difficult to carry out or operate. In addition, with the development of drum level measurement technologies, revision of “Stipulations trial” is strongly needed to gain a formal provision.

    As the National Electric Power Company has been divided into Huaneng Power International company, Datang International Power Company, China Power Investment Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, China Guodian Corporation and Guohua Power Company. After the negotiation among the corporations mentioned above, Thermal Automation Standardization Technical Committee of Electric Power Industry authorized the " Technical Stipulation for Boiler drum Water level Measurement System "(i.e.“Technical Stipulations”).

    "Technical Stipulations " (Draft) was completed in September 11, 2004. After that, Thermal Automation Standardization Technical Committee of Electric Power Industry held an review conference on "Technical Stipulations " (Draft) in Beijing, on September 15,2004. Present at the conference were: Huaneng Power International company, China Power Investment Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, Guohua Power Company, Beijing Joint Power Investment Company, Power Company of Hebei Province and Henan Province, Northeast Electric Power Science and Technology Research Institute, North China Electric Power Science and Technology Research Institute, Henan Electric Power Test and Research Institute, North China Electric Power Design Institute, nine power plants and two manufacturers of drum water level measurement device, which are altogether 23 experts from 23 different companies. After heated discussions, modification proposals and conference suggestions, final draft came into being.
